Education with a focus on play

Education with a focus on play

We believe that play is all about letting children take the initiative and encouraging them to carry out and pursue things they are interested in. Play helps nurture their intrinsic curiosity and is essential, because it also helps them to acquire life skills including how to relate to others (empathy, the ability to speak and listen, the ability to form relationships with others), thinking power (the ability to think), imagination (the motivation that creates an enriched mind), inquisitiveness (the ability to find out the essence), cooperativeness (the ability to cooperate and collaborate with others), self-reliance (the ability to be independent), and morality (the attitude that one should uphold).

Play is important, and should therefore be at the center of daily life in early childhood in the same way that study and work are for school children and adults, respectively. We place emphasis on play, and the class teachers play a key role in deepening their relationships of trust with the children.

Individuality of each child

Each child is born with individuality in terms of interests, sensitivity and characteristics. Kindergarten is a place where children, with their own individuality, are allowed to develop themselves and inspire each other through play. It is also a place where they learn about social awareness. They recognize the differences between themselves and others through group activities and learn how to cooperate with each other, although they may feel confused or be asked to accept others from time to time.

Instead of applying a fixed formula, we are mindful of providing childcare that motivates each child. We support children closely in order to understand them and empathize with their feelings. We are here to support children’s development.

Childcare that nurtures the dreams of each child

“I want to be like that!” “I want to do it!” “I wish it were like that!” Such wishes are dreams…in other words, we endeavor to enhance children’s thinking power by developing their imaginations and their ability to picture things in their mind. This allows them to expect and imagine the consequences of events. We believe that they will be better equipped to face difficulties in the future and find the strength to go forward if they know how to handle disappointment.

We hope that the experience gained at our kindergarten will allow children to dream their own unique dreams. We are passionate about nurturing them, as early childhood is the first step they must take in order to realize their dreams.
